m, 2011I still have the Carol Service ringing in my ears - quite the best one for some years. Many thanks to all the girls for giving their very best and creating some wonderful memories. Before that, the Nativity Play - again, one of the best that I can remember. Lovely singing and acting, creating a very special start to Christmas.
There have been some super performances in Chapel this term - Emilia Beale, Tilly Henriques, Chapel Choir, Kitty Fraser, the Upper 6th, Ottilie Tabberer, Marina Vestbirk, Orchestra and on our and her last Sunday chapel, Sofia Maughan beautifully singing 'The Water is Wide'.
In November, 19 girls took music exams in piano, singing, flute, treble recorder, clarinet and Grade 5 music theory, gaining 4 distinctions, 8 merits and 7 passes. Very well done to them and I hope all girls taking exams next term keep practising over the holiday - don't forget the scales and sight reading.
In October, some members of the Orchestra attended the Senior SATIPS Orchestral day at Bryanston. It was pretty hard work and they all did a fabulous job helping to give a really good concert at the end of the day. Emilia Beale and Marina Vestbirk played 'Jazz Waltz' beautifully as Hanford's solo item.
